Perinatal Loss

Perinatal Loss is any loss that occurs within the perinatal period, or the time between the 20th week of gestation and 4 weeks after birth. Perinatal loss includes intrauterine fetal demise (stillbirth), pregnancy termination, and death in the neonatal period. Miscarriage and other pregnancy losses prior to the 20th week of gestation are not considered perinatal losses. [79]
