Cephalic disorders are congenital conditions that affect the head or head end of the body. These conditions are caused by a disturbance very early in the development of the fetal nervous system. Not all cephalic disorders are fatal. Prenatal diagnoses of cephalic disorders include acrania, anencephaly, holoprosencephaly, hydranencephaly, and microcephaly. [11]
